Grove Junior High School is a school embracing the middle level philosophy.
Our Mission is: "To pursue academic excellence by building good character and empowering students with skills for the future".
We are a junior high school serving grades 6th through 8th, with a student population of approximately 950 students in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Our school is one of the three junior high schools comprising Elk Grove Township Community Consolidated School District 59.
Grove Junior High School was opened in the early 60’s. Lively Junior High School students joined with Grove in 1985 when Lively closed. Grove has been historically a school for 6th through 8th grades. We serve a diverse student population and include several special programs for District 59.
Our school mascot is the elk and our school colors are green and gold. Grove Junior High provides a balanced and well developed academic program. We are very proud of our students’ successes each year. Upon graduation from 8th grade, our students attend Elk Grove High School, which is part of High School District 214. We strive to make a smooth transition from junior high to the high school with a variety of joint programs.
Grove Junior High School provides many programs to enhance and enrich the strong academic programs by providing a wide variety of extra-curricular activities both before and after school for our student population. Programs such as music and drama, athletics, newspaper, ecology and technology clubs, National Junior Honor Society, and various activities to meet the needs of our special needs students.
We are a school embarking on a total team approach for our students and staff. Grove also promotes the Pillars of CHARACTER COUNTS! throughout our curriculum. The staff and administration at Grove strive to recognize positive student behavior. The Groovin' at Grove program assures a safe, positive learning environment for all students. Students are recognized by following three expectations: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Prepared.
We invite you to come visit our school at any time. Please feel free to contact a member of the administrative team.
